Charlie is a Co-Founder and Partner of Nobska Group. In addition to strategy
consulting with middle market and early stage companies, Charlie leads Nobska’s
transactional team in capital raising, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures,
business sales, management buy-outs, and strategic partnering.
Charlie’s prior experience includes investment banking, strategy consulting, and
venture capital with Alex. Brown & Sons, Tanner Capital, and Emporium
Development. He has advised numerous growth companies in raising debt and equity
capital, business planning, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, as well as
in marketing, finance, operations, and corporate governance. In addition to a
wide range of technology companies, Charlie has advised retailers, consumer
product companies, wholesalers, and real estate developers.
Charlie is particularly experienced in the creation of strategic business
alliances. For instance, he was a founder and Chairman of the Board of a
cooperative business alliance of more than 1,000 independent retailers, 25
distributors, and a dozen manufacturers producing private label product for the
cooperative. He has successfully negotiated numerous marketing and technology
alliances in a wide range of industries from information technology to financial
services to health care.
He has also served several companies in a variety of management positions
including as CEO, President, CFO, Vice President, Business Development, and as a
Director. With his wife Laura, Charlie acquired, merged, integrated and managed
a series of related distribution and retail companies. Charlie’s background “in
the trenches” of early stage and middle market companies enables him to have
strong empathy and insight into the challenges faced by entrepreneurial clients
and portfolio companies.
Charlie earned his MBA from Boston College and was an honors graduate in
Government and an All-American lacrosse player at Dartmouth College.
